Expertise in pharmaceutical packaging
The pharmaceutical sector has many different areas of application, each with is own, often unique requirements regarding production and packaging. PET Power has been working intensively with this sector since its incorporation in 1995. This has led to an extended spectrum of products and, above all, to a rich store of expertise and experience. In developing their products, companies can benefit from this.

Areas of application

The pharmaceutical products market has many areas of application. An overview. Firstly, we distinguish between freely available and registered medications. Secondly, within each, a distinction has to be made between products for human and those for veterinary purposes. Within these four main categories, the market also demands, for example, painkilling and curative medications, food supplements that contribute to health, products for laboratory services and the safe use and/or cleaning of articles.

In brief

More concretely, the pharmaceutical sector needs packaging for a vast array of applications: from vaccinations to cough syrups, from vitamin complexes to liquid media and from contact lens fluids to cleaning products.

Packaging requirements

It is not only the customers that set high packaging standards for such a varied range, but also supervisory authorities. To comply with these, PET Power built its first cleanroom in 1998. Over subsequent years it expanded capacity and conformed to the guidelines set out in ISO14644. The cleanroom currently contains production space covering 1,200 m2 under Class 7 conditions. The facility thus complies with the highest current standards in the packaging sector. PET Power operates in accordance with the principles of cGMP. It has built up a leading market position on the basis of its experience in this area.

(Supplementary) services

Arriving at a high-quality and safe pharmaceutical end product necessitates ongoing and intensive consultation. The customer expresses demands and wishes, and PET Power outlines the way in which it can meet these. Specific packaging is possible, such as three-fold sealing foil around the bottles that customers fill in their own cleanroom. The irradiation service is available to manufacturers intending to put a sterile product on the market. Other supplementary services are, for example, lab testing in accordance with the ISO 11137 method and additional production line checks using cameras.

No product is complete without an appropriate lid. There are innumerable variations, from child-safe versions to specific shrink sleeves and stoppers for injection fluids. PET Power provides advice on these and also takes care of the finishing.
